Department of Travel, Tourism and Hospitality is a newly established stream in Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University). Hon’ble Vice chancellor of the University has always welcomed innovative and employment oriented studies. With growing recognition provided to tourism and hospitality sector, by both the Center and the State Governments and developing the same as a priority area for economic development, it becomes imperative that JRNRV reaches out to a host of audiences that are directly or indirectly influenced by travel and tourism activities.

Department of Travel, Tourism and Hospitality endeavors to nurture professional and managerial excellence in tourism education, training, consultancy & research, accompanied with social &cultural sensitivity and responsibility.

 

Department of Travel, Tourism, and Hospitality campus is located in the ‘Venice of India’ or the ‘City of Lakes - Udaipur’, India’s leading tourist destination in Rajasthan. As the hospitality industry is rapidly flourishing, we aim to equip and educate our students with a learning exposure directly from the industry. The Course Curriculum is profoundly emphasized on activity-based learning. Learning by Doing is a core value, and the key pedagogical approach followed in the Department.

 

This course equips students with management, marketing and operational skills necessary to successfully fulfill a position within travel or hospitality areas. Since both the industries pull different aspects from other related sectors, students will partake in an interdisciplinary course of study. With a strong vision, students can gain a diverse and beneficial skill set, along with knowledge based application experience, through a course in travel and hospitality. They can apply said knowledge and abilities to different industries, especially within the realms of travel, hospitality and customer service. Students also gain strong operational management knowledge, which can further help them in their respective fields of interests.

As Travel and Tourism is one of the world's largest industries, comprising of more than 9.3 percent of the global Gross Domestic Product. Every year, over a billion tourists visit multiple destinations by different modes of transport such as air, land or sea. Hotels alone account for over half a trillion dollars annual revenue worldwide

 

The industry is very broad, meaning there are plenty of opportunities, and specialty fields, both visible and working behind the scenes. Currently, one in eleven jobs of the world economy correspond to tourism and hospitality industry

 

Tourism and hospitality as a whole includes attractions management, convention planning, customer service, event planning, food service, gaming, lodging, marketing, sales and travel.
