Lok Shikshan Vibhag

From last 69 years Lok Shikshan Vibhag is working in tribal belt of Udaipur region in the field of literacy, continuing education, non-formal education, women education, social education, social awareness and upliftment of society. Through its many pronged intervention programmes, Vibhag is virtually transforming the face of a section of rural tribal Rajasthan, in class rooms of tribal schools, in the entrenched gender relations, in the struggle against inhuman deprivations and oppressions. Vibhag at present spread over 200 villages for the development of women and education of children and adults. Mobile librararies and News board services of the Vibhag add to the rural empowerment.

Objectives

• To achieve 80% literacy in target area. To publish new literatures for neo literate people.
• To arrange education for Non-school going children of 6 to 14 age group.
• To establish libraries and reading rooms in tribal and rural area.
• To inculcate democratic ideals among the people.
• To create scientific temper and outlook in the society.
• To produce efficient adult education personnel and social workers by giving them proper training.
• To impart population & development education.

Working Area

Vibhag is working in four panchayat samitis Salumber, Sarada, Badgaon and Girva of Udaipur district. Vibhag has established Lok Shikshan Kendras in these panchayat samitis. These centers are :-
